Mental health affects us all and it negatively takes a toll on our emotions, that switches our direction in our academics. Resources being available and finding the right help can help us change that direction.
Mental Health's Relationship with Academics

There is a daunting relation between behavioral health issues and a students GPA and attendance, that roots from mental health issues. It has been found that undergraduates diagnosed with depression reported a decrease in approximately half of a letter grade compared to non-depressed peers (Hysenbegasi et al. 2005). With depression comes the onset of suicide ideations and studies show that, Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students and among college samples, over 18 % of students reported SI and additional 8 % reported an attempt (Drum et al. 2009).

Trouble sleeping
Having low energy
Test and performance anxiety
Statements of self-doubt or low self-esteem
Loss of interest in hobbies and activities

Engage with your peers
Benefits in engagement can create a positive self-identification, and can help mitigate the negative impact of self-esteem and self-efficacy.
School-based Counseling Services
Students having the access to school counseling resources, helps them develop social skills, and they receive tips and advice on building coping strategies for themselves.
Creating good habits
Our body is one whole system and our mental health only gets better if we cater to each category our body. Creating a good diet, getting the recommended exercise, and most importantly getting enough sleep.
